Des O'Reilly's Tennis-a-thon
We’d like to update you on Des O’Reilly’s tennis-a-thon held last Saturday 10th August in aid of Young Lives v Cancer day.
Four players - Des, Ben, Charlie & Sam - played the full 12 hours (8am - 8pm) with only occasional short breaks for refreshments. Lots of other club members came and played in hourly slots throughout the day.
The day started in the rain and ended on a perfect summers eve. Des and Ben were leading Charlie and Sam (6-2, 6-4, 4-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4, 1-6, 6-1, 7-6, 4-4) when they were cruelly stopped. Needless to say a good nights sleep was had by all.
Thank you to all players and spectators who turned up throughout the day and also to everyone who kindly donated. So far £1400 has been raised.
