A huge thank you for signing up to the FSC Club Racketball Championships – it’s fantastic to see so much interest. The last event was held in 2018, so it’s great to bring it back!
With 18 players in the Open draw, a Women’s Final, and five doubles pairings, it’s shaping up to be a brilliant event. Prizes are being supplied by Karakal!
Open Singles Draw
As we had 18 entries, two preliminary matches are required. These were randomly drawn:
Matt Tamblyn vs Red Sterry
Chris Lea vs Mike McCabe
Please can these be played over the weekend or before the Last 16 on Monday evening.
Winners progress into the main draw
Losers move into the Plate competition
For all other players, your first-round matches take place on Monday 23rd February . The draw is enclosed in this email. The draw has been created largely at random, with a small number of seedings. Start times are included – please stick to them where possible, though we appreciate everyone has busy schedules.
If you need to rearrange a match, it must be completed before the Quarter-Finals on Thursday 26th February .
Win your first match → Progress to the Main Draw
Lose your first match → Enter the Plate Competition
Match Format & Equipment
For early rounds, please provide your own ball or collect one from the bar. New balls will be provided for the semi-finals and finals. If you have any issues, let us know – I have spares available.
Doubles Event
The doubles pairings are:
Alan Thomas & Matthew Stone
Jon Hardwick & Sam Chedzoy
Martin Jordan & Sarah Jordan
Rob Benyon & Billy Lambert
Kai Savage & Kevin Marshall
This will be a round-robin format, starting at 1pm on Saturday 28th February, following Junior Squash training. The doubles will be Best of 5, first to 15 (sudden death at 14-14 in the round robin and two clear in the final).
The Semi-Finals of both the Plate and Main Draw will follow at approximately 5pm: please come along to watch and support!
Finals Day – Sunday (from 2pm)
Order of play:
We hope to get lots of support there once again!
All matches will be submitted to the new Racketball (Squash57) Levels system (see below for the GDPR statement).
Most importantly—have fun and good luck to everyone!
Matt & Jon
