Fancy Dress Racketball Competition

Last weekend, 16 racketball players took to the court for a fun-packed day of fancy-dress doubles, all in support of West Cornwall Search & Rescue Team.
Pairs were pulled out of the hat, with every team facing every other team in a lively round-robin format. Once the matches were complete – and a few well-earned beverages enjoyed – the action moved into two closely contested semi-finals. The final was a best-of-three showdown between Roger (the Rev) & Sam (the Clown) and John (the Snowboarder) & Matt (the Jester).
After some fantastic rallies, it was Roger and Sam who emerged victorious, taking home the trophy along with prizes kindly sponsored by Karakal and Fives Cyderhouse.
A huge well done to everyone who took part, especially those new to the sport. Special thanks to Sarah for the great food and unbeatable vibes afterwards. This is definitely one for the diary again in 2027!
An amazing £118 was raised on the day!
West Cornwall Search & Rescue is a Cornish charity made up of unpaid volunteers who are available 24/7, 365 days a year, supporting the emergency services in the search for lost, missing, and injured people.
The cause is particularly close to home for us, as our Lead Squash Coach, Matt, is also a volunteer Call-out Member and Search Dog Handler with the team.
