2022 Squash Championships Report

A big thank you to everyone who competed in this year’s squash championships and came out to the finals last night. After not holding the Club Closed Championships for the past two years due to Covid, we were finally able to return to the court this year and saw one of the best finals nights we've had in years.
The Plate event was contested between Christian Thomas and Tom Jay. It was a close match with Tom ultimately besting Christian to win 3-1.
The Grand Final of this year’s championships was an exciting rematch of the 2019 final fought out between Jon Newton and Jack Mahon. The final was a riveting affair with some very close games and spectacular rallies. Jonny fought hard, but Jack's progression over the past few years meant he had no struggles to not only keep up, but to claim the crown. The final score was 3-0 to Jack who takes home the coveted trophy.
Congratulations to Jack and Tom and for everyone who took part. Onwards now to the 2022 county squash season which kicks off on Monday at 7pm!
